Oh GOD!! I am sooooooo sosososo sorry I just like... died! I can't believe it... this semester went so fast! Really, DA is like... the one site I check religiously and I didnt even have the time to clean up here. Four English classes and it was all I could do to stay on top of the reading and writing for them. BUT! It was fantastic and I did well, so I'd call it worth it. Nothing much else to say about that except my 499 turned out to be my favorite class. The books were fantastic, the subject not difficult, the teacher awesome, and on top of it all? I got to write my end thesis for the class on Rowling's novels. That's right. 19 pages on the Ecocriticism in Harry FREAKIN' Potter! Does it get any better? I think not.

I didn't get to check in here during Thanksgiving break because I was in ... BARCELONA!!1one. I'll spare you the details but five friends in the most beautiful city in Spain and possibly the world? Oh yes. It was wonderful. I have some great pictures too, that I'll upload for their artsy worth. And I discovered my favorite artist while there: the architect Antoni Gaudi. I encourage everyone to look him up.

I've also had the good fortune of FINALLY seeing the Goo Goo Dolls in concert. Most of our friends were wussies and didn't follow, but Kate and I managed to sneak up to the third row during the encore. Let me tell you, Im not really into older men, but Johnny Rzeznik is the hottest 40 year-old ever. It was a fantastic concert, and the boys were great with the audience, but I guess after 20 years of being a band, you learn quite a few things about working the crowd.

So over this break I planned to do all this writing and art! But I always say that... Turns out the best I've been able to do so far is clean out my deviation inbox (some 600 pieces x.x' ). Full-viewed everything, my dears, but Im sorry I didnt leave as many comments as I should D: But I did read descriptions! I hope that counts for something... I still have 900 messages (in faves, comments, and journals) but I might resort to skimming... But let me thank all new watchers! My love to you

There's still some time left on vacation, so I might get some art done yet. But again, never fear. If I've promised you something, you'll get it. It might be.. very late and you might hate me by then, but you'll get it! I never break my word. The patience of you people is just amazing. I love you bestest and you all deserve cookies.

Phew. Has it only been a month? Really? Heck, it feels like I've been back at school for ages! And it seems like I've been living in this townhouse for years. But in a good way. So just what has been going on anyhow? Well, I've gotten through a month of classes... My schedule is so beautiful (as in condensed and consistant, same get up time each day), and without science classes, I have no worries about a lab that sucks up time but counts for no credit. The rest of my friends hate me for it XD All the bio and chem majors. It's very strange... Im taking a full courseload, but it hardly feels like work. I guess it's just not that lecture type class that chem and physics were. All my classes now are like... discussions. We read, and we talk about it. It's quite fabulous. I still have no idea about what I want to DO yet, but for now at least I know what I enjoy. Lit, English... Im in the right major. As for the actual classes Im taking? They are wonderful. The teachers are fantastic, the people in them are cool.. Everything's great. But we'll see if my tune changes once I get some papers back!

The only thing about taking all lit courses is that all I do is read. I sleep, eat, go to class, come back, and read. I dont mind it, but it gives me little time for other things... Like art. Oh! And I go to the gym. I try to make it six days a week (leaving off Monday for rest, since I have the most class hours that day and the most reading due for the Tuesday), and it's been going pretty well. I usually drag Kate along with me. I've lost a deal of weight from it, which thrills me, but what surprises me the most is how much I enjoy it. I dunno... No work, nothing to think about.. I just listen to music for an hour and do my routine.

I guess that's enough rambling about my life. I just wanted to let you know Im not dead and why I've been so silent. It's all the READING. Reading and papers. I havent forgotten about any of my art obligations, so no worries! If you've been waiting a while I am so SO sorry! I havent forgotten, for sure, and I promise you'll get what I owe you once I find the time. I actually HAVE been trying to squeeze in some photoshop time (and i was doing so WELL), but then when I tried to open it yesterday... it didnt work. PS 6 and Illustrator will both load fine... But 7 will go through the whole 'initializing' phase, and when it should boot up, it closes instead. Has anyone else ever had this problem? If so, please help meh D: I probably just have to reinstall the program... But that also causes a delay because I dont have the CD with me. Soooo... Im sorry everyone D: Anyway. That's it. SO! Sorry I keep fading off the face of the planet. Life's been a little haywire lately; a lot of trying to figure out myself. Im not really the soul-searching type, as I like to think I have a strong sense of self, but more... what I want to do with my future. So then, what's been going on lately? For starters, I wrapped up my summer job, went crazy seeing friends for the last two weeks... And now Im back at school! All moved into my townhouse, and it is definately the awesomest thing ever. I still cant believe the place is OURS. I look out and there's no dorm hall, but a little landing and stairs and... just great. Somewhere in between all that, I had a career crisis, having no idea what I want to do anymore.. So, in a last minute decision, I dropped organic chemistry, put the med school idea on hold, and picked up another lit class. So let's see how this works out. Ill be meeting with lots of advisors this year to get some direction Other than that.. I started classes today! Im really excited for them. Im really happy at the moment, but very busy. Im backlogged on DA by about 200 things again, so Im REALLY sorry if I havent responded to any recent messages. Ill get to it, I swear! I just need things to settle down around this place first.

That's my story (excuse...). I hope things have been a little less chaotic for you all. And I promise to try and get up to date ASAP!

My college webby. I swear, love the school to DEATH but when it comes to getting things done? I've been on edge all summer about parking permits (apparently they enjoy keeping it a secret when you'll actually be able to register your vehicle) when I finally found out they were going to be available on the 9th. Aaaand... I was down the shore yesterday. Luckily, I shouldnt have worried. Incompetant as they are, they put a message up saying they hoped to have the online system for parking registration up and running by the end of today. So I've been checking sporadically through the morning until finally 'lo and behold! The login appears. ... Unfortunately, the only lot it wants to allow me to register for is Lot 6, which is a far distance from the Lot 9 I should be in. It also says Im still a resident of Decker Hall instead of the Townhouses, so Im thinking they havent fully finished making this registration usable yet. ... Which leads me to ask, if it isnt ready, WHY put up the login? Wouldnt it make sense to just do that last? I know I shouldnt be so cranky about this, but I've been stressing over it all summer. Me loves my car too much not to get a permit <3

Sorry for this useless rant :\ I didnt get much sleep last night, Im tired, at work, and slowly turning into a zombie. Thank goodness I only have one more day here.

Addendum: Okay, so Im home, and like ~Skyrook said, I think the new layout looks a hell of a lot better on Firefox than on the outdated version of Internet Explorer at work. It's not so bad, really... The header (where is says like... gallery stats and stuff) is what bothers me the most. Lots of wasted space (a compulsion of mine) by making everything vertical instead of the mix they had before. There's one thing that makes me laugh, though... It always bothered me about DA that it's like a scavanger hunt to find the "manage friends" and all other account stuff like that. I would have figured with the revamp, they might have made a "My Account" page and had a link readily available to it. It's so odd that it's just tucked away in the Message Center, dont you think?

I'm sure this is like... the 10th journal entry (at LEAST) that you've all gotten on this topic... But raise your hand if you dont like the new layout!!! It reminds me suspiciously of SheezyArt... and while this was supposed to be "more professional looking," I think it's just the opposite. It seems blocky, 'childish,' and disorganized. But maybe that's just a first impression...

Edit: Dont be insulted if you DO like the new layout! Feel free to comment that you do and why I'd like to hear the perks of the design.
